State DOE:
Accountability Framework

Accountability Framework

November 2003

The purpose of this Accountability Framework is to implement a DOE system of accountability that conforms with state (Act 238, Session Laws of Hawaii 2000) and federal legislation ("No Child Left Behind" Act of 2001), as well as Board of Education accountability expectations and selected strategies from the DOE's Strategic Implementation Plan. The framework further incorporates expectations for students' development of civic responsibility and the provision of high-quality educational services in settings that are safe and conducive to students' well-being.
